Veggie Taco Meat

Ingredients:

  • 1 C T.V.P.
  • 1 1/2 T Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • dash Cayenne
  • 1-2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 Onion (chopped)
  • 1 Clove Garlic (minced)
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • salt to taste

Method:

  1. In a large skillet saute onion in oil over medium heat for about 3 minutes.
  2. Add garlic, cook about 1 minute.
  3. In a small saucepan, add T.V.P. to 1 C boiling water.
  4. Quickly add chili powder, cumin, cayenne, and soy sauce; stir until all of the water and spices are absorbed.
  5. Incorporate the T.V.P. mixture with the onions in the skillet.
  6. Add salt to taste.
