Sopapillas

Ingredients:

  • 2 C Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3 T Plant Based Butter
  • 3/4 C Water
  • Oil for Frying

Method:

  1. Mix dry ingredients together.
  2. Slowly mix in wet ingredients until a smooth ball is formed.
  3. Let sit for 20 minutes.
  4. Roll out into a rectangle that is a 1/4" thick.
  5. Cut into squares about 3"x3".
  6. Heat oil to 375F.
  7. Fry each sopapilla until it puffs up and turns golden.

Note:

Sometimes the sopapillas just don't puff up, but they still taste good.
